Fatal House Fire
Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded to a house fire. The fire was reported to be a small fire with smoke coming out the rear door. The first in firefighters found the door closed to a bedroom where the fire was located. Only smoke and heat had affected the rest of the house and the fire in the bedroom was not very large due to the lack of oxygen with the door and windows closed. Firefighters found Krystal Tilley on the floor next to the bed. She was moved from the house to a waiting ambulance. She was transported but did not survive.
Officer Workman investigated and determined it to have been an accidental fire caused by smoking in bed.
