Soddy-Daisy Fire Department

On July 3 2006 Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire on Lovell Road. The mobile home was believed to have been a 1970s model. Sergeant Meeks of the Police Department was the first person on the location. He reported the house fully involved and a car parked next to the house threatened.

The first in firefighters pulled 2 1-3/4" hand lines and attacked the fire. Due to the quick action of the first firefighters the car received very minor damage and the fire in the house was stopped before destroying the south end of the house. It was a total loss but for a fire to be stopped on a mobile home of this age is considered quite an accomplishment.

After the fire was under control and the mop up was beginning the car was covered with a tarp to prevent any further damage. Firefighters searched the debris to find the owners purse and personal items that survived the fire.
