On Saturday, April 4, 2009 just a few hours before the monthly breakfast at station one Soddy Daisy Fire Department responded to a house fire on Dayton Pike.
Four engines responded although not all four were used. The first hydrant that was hooked up to did not work so another engine laied a supply line to the next hydrant on Dayton Pike.
The house was an older house and was fully involved upon arrival. The water in the tanks stopped the spread but it did not make much difference to the house because of the damage already done to it before arrival. The house was a total loss.
The fire was out and unites returned to duty with just enough time to get everything back in service before the Firefighters Association Breakfast.
